ParticipantRecently, there have been rare instances where a provisional account is not created and an account registration email is not sent after completing a payment with Stripe.
To resolve this issue, would it be effective to upgrade the Stripe API version? Currently, we are using the Stripe API version from 2020 and are considering updating to the latest version.
However, I understand that once upgraded, it is not possible to downgrade.
We are currently using version 4.3.4 of this plugin. Is it safe to assume that it generally supports the latest API version?
Also, should we regularly update to the latest version going forward?
I would appreciate any advice on this matter.
Thank you very much.

ModeratorFirst things first… please turn on the debug logs.
Is only one, or multiple new membership purchases affected?
Does Stripe (on their website) actually record the purchase as being successful?
As of the time of this replay, the most recent version of the plugin in 4.3.8, so please download and install it.

ParticipantThank you for your comment. The debug log is already turned on. Multiple purchases are affected, with the issue occurring in 2 to 3 out of a dozen or so transactions. Additionally, Stripe records the purchases as successful, and there are no errors shown on the Stripe dashboard for either the buyer or the seller. The API also shows no error history and logs indicate the transactions were completed successfully.
We manage the plugin in coordination with a maintenance company, so we can’t immediately update the production environment to the latest version.
However, we did upgrade to the latest version in our test environment, but the issue was not resolved.
For now, would it be alright to proceed with upgrading the Stripe API version?

KeymasterHi, Yes, you can upgrade the Stripe API version. Stripe lets you roll back to your previous API version within 72 hours. So normally you would do the following:
– Upgrade the Stripe API version from your Stripe account.
– Do a test transaction with the plugin (Optionally, you can keep debug logging feature enabled for extra data).
– Check to see if everything ran smoothly.
– If not, you can roll back the Stripe API version.Generally, if a Stripe API version has been out for lets say 2 months, it is safe to assume that latest version for the plugin can handle that.

ParticipantThank you for your response.
I am aware of the support for the latest version upgrade and the rollback method.
I will give it a try.
I will report back if there is any progress.
