ParticipantHi,
Thanks for the great product. I need to import non-Wordpress users to my database. I have installed the WP CSV to DB plugin and followed the instructions here exactly, but they seem to be outdated.I used the CSV template from your website and did not add, remove or alter any column headers. Perhaps the file is outdated as well?
I can’t complete the following step because there is no “Columns” section: Enter the content of this text file in the “Column Names” field.
When I click the “Import to DB” button, I receive this error:
* Starting Row value exceeds the number of entries being updated to the database from the .csv file.I have unique values in all of the columns and tried the import with “auto-increment” both checked and unchecked, but I also consistently get this alert: This table contains an “auto increment” column.
Please be sure to use unique values in this column from the .csv file.
Alternatively, the “auto increment” column may be bypassed by clicking the checkbox above. Please advise? Is there another way to bulk import a large number of users for membership?
Thanks.January 23, 2017 at 11:05 pm #9826mbrsolution
ModeratorHi, did you replace the headers in the csv example file with the headers in the text file?
January 24, 2017 at 2:42 pm #9847sezg
ParticipantAh, yes, that worked. Thanks for the clarification; I didn’t understand it from the instructions. Why don’t you just have an accurate .csv file for download?
Thanks for the help!January 24, 2017 at 7:47 pm #9852mbrsolution
ModeratorYes I think that would be a great idea. I am glad it worked.
Thank you

ParticipantHello, I have a follow-up question for this. My bulk import from your CSV template worked well except for the “membership level.”
On the overview table, the membership level column is blank. When I enter the record of an individual member, change nothing, and then save it, the membership level is now showing.
Until I do this for each individual record one at a time, they cannot access the site. In the attached image, I’m using member “jackie”
Any ideas? Thank you!

ModeratorCan you provide step by step on how you are importing the csv file into your site?
Thank you

ParticipantI followed your instructions exactly (https://simple-membership-plugin.com/simple-membership-bulk-import-member-data-csv-file/). Like I said, the import was successful except for populating the Membership Level
1) Installed the WP CSV to DB plugin.
2) Downloaded the csv template file and open it using Microsoft Excel https://simple-membership-plugin.com/wp-content/uploads/downloadables/members.csv
3) Filled the member details. One member per row (Replaced two example entries them with actual details).
4) Replaced the headers in the csv example file with the headers in the text file https://simple-membership-plugin.com/wp-content/uploads/downloadables/swpm_column_names.txt
5) In the plugin, entered 2 in the “Starting Row” field.
6) Entered “wp_swpm_members_tbl” in the “Database Table Name” field
7) uploaded the CSV file
8) Hit the “Import to DB” buttonThanks.

ModeratorJust two questions does your CSV file have a membership level entry added? If it does, does it coincide with the membership level already existing in your website?

ParticipantThank you. The csv has a column titled ” membership_level”
And every members cell is populated. It looks like there’s a space in the csv that is not in the level title, so I will try again first and let you know if that works!March 15, 2017 at 3:44 pm #10491sezg
ParticipantI just emptied the wp_swpm_members_tbl database and re-imported the csv.
The membership level “CCCC-Active” is exactly as it appears in the site. Every row in the csv has the membership level populated with CCCC-Active, yet the level is *still* not displaying on the overview page and I *still* need to save each member manually to apply it. all other information from the csv imported correctly. Any ideas?March 15, 2017 at 10:31 pm #10493mbrsolution

ParticipantHello, Is there any update on this? Also, I’ve purchased the premium Data Exporter plugin. It appears when I actually export the data, it only exports manually registered members; it does not include the full database of imported members as well. Is there a way to get all members?
Thanks.March 23, 2017 at 9:17 pm #10575mbrsolution
ModeratorHi, in regards to your premium addon please create a premium support ticket.
Thank you

ParticipantHi, The premium issue is resolved (was related to access date) but I’m still rather desperate to fix the member import issue. The membership level is still not populating unless I individually re-save each member!
I just deleted the members tbl in the db and reimported all members as Active instead of Inactive, but this did not make a difference. Please help!
