Hi, I originally posted this question here, but I think it got lost:
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/enable-redirection-to-the-last-page-where-they-clicked-the-login-link/

    Hello,
I was unable to get the Login Redirect plugin to work as expected. I have 30 plugins and tested all. I found the problem was… “The Simple Membership Custom Messages Plugin.”

!!! With that deactivated, the login redirect goes to the user’s last page as expected.

So any suggestion how I can customize the login message from “You need to login to view this content. Please Login. Not a Member? Join Us” and still have a login redirect?

I think you have a GREAT product, but it took a lot of effort for me to discover that your own plugins are incompatible…
    Thanks

Hi, sorry if your other messages was somewhat missed. Can you carry out a test. Can you test one of WordPress default themes like Twenty Fifteen or Sixteen and also enable The Simple Membership Custom Messages Plugin. Then carry out a test?

    Thank you

No worries for the delay, you guys really offer fantastic support.

This test was a good idea! I installed both 2015 and 2016 themes and tested. When the custom message plugin is activated, the login redirect does not work in any theme. When the custom message plugin is deactivated, the login redirect works in every theme.

So it seems the problem is not theme related, nor related to my functions.php. It seems entirely related to the Custom messages plugin.

I only have content in one custom message fields: Restricted post (not logged in).
    It is:
Sorry, you must be a member of the CCCC to view this content. [swpm_login_form]

    I also tried:
Sorry, you must be a member of the CCCC to view this content. If you are already a member, please login.

Neither redirects. For good measure, I uninstalled and deleted the custom messages plugin. I then tested, and the login redirect worked as expected. I then reinstalled and activated the custom messages. Redirect doesn’t work.

Finally, I removed my content in the custom message plugin field (the “Restricted Content, not logged in” input). The redirect worked! So it seems the problem is the actual custom message content!

    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

That login redirect addon LOOKS for the special login link that the core plugin creates. It then replaces that login link with an extra parameter. If you use the custom messages addon to override the standard protection message of the plugin then the login addon can’t add the extra parameter. This is one of those features where you need to pick one (You can’t get both).

Well, that’s a bummer. So I guess the answer to my original question (the title of this post): yes, they are incompatible.

I will edit that actual plugin file with my custom message than to achieve this.

Please note a request for the compatibility in future updates…

Thanks for the dialogue– and generally great product despite this shortcoming.
