WordPress Membership Plugin
Simple Membership Plugin › Forums › Simple Membership Plugin › Administrative add new member fails with javascript error
I just downloaded and activated the plugin on 9/20/24 and I’m seeing this issue…
When I add a new member from the admin interface it throws a js error on fieldElement.value for the firstname input. This is when it is processing the form validators. fieldElement is null because the firstname input does not have a swpm-form-firstname selector on it, so the registrationForm.querySelector() does not find the field. As a result of the exception, the new member is not added and no message or reason is given in the UI.
Please delete, download and reinstall a fresh copy of the plugin. If the error still persists; please turn on the SWPM debug logs, and go through this checklist:

Ok, even with all other plugins deactivated, I still see the javascript error. However, the javascript error doesn’t seem to be a cause of it not adding the new member. I think it’s unrelated. The new member wasn’t added because the email I gave matched the email of an existing (non-member) WP user.
Thanks
