Thank you for your patience as we looked into this issue, Henry!
Upon further investigation, it appears that the Simple WordPress Membership plugin is not compatible with PHP 8.1 and which is causing a conflict on your site.
Since you require this plugin for your site’s functionality, please reach out to the plugin developers here for further assistance:
REDACTEDYou can find more information about our scope of support for third-party products here:
REDACTEDYour primary site REDACTED is currently running on PHP 7.4 and should continue working as expected for now. Please note however that this is a temporary solution, as PHP 7.4 has been deprecated, and will be phased out within the next two weeks. I would encourage you to reach out to the plugin developer as soon as possible to address this compatibility issue.

ModeratorGiven that PHP 8.1 was released on November 25, 2021; any incompatibilities would have been discovered by now, since SWPM is regularly updated.
Please ensure that you are running the most current and vetted version of SWPM, by downloading it directly from our site:
https://simple-membership-plugin.com/Also, please perform the following compatibility checklist:

ParticipantThe problem is that I have purchased the Expiry Email Notification and Broadcast Addon, and I cannot download it updated.
I spent 2 days to discover that this plugin stopped working when my host changed PHP from version 7 to version 8.
How could I resolve this ?

Hey Henry!
We have done some deeper investigation into the issues you’ve been having with the site since the update to PHP 8.1.
We did some conflict checks to confirm the plugin that was having the issue. We found that the offending plugin can be confirmed as SWPM Full Page Protection (swpm-full-page-protection). Looking through the errors it was definitely something that was being affected by the PHP version so we went and looked at the versions of the plugins installed on your site. We found that the version of SWPM Full Page Protection was version 1.7. A new version of the plugin was available at https://simple-membership-plugin.com/full-page-protection-addon-simple-membership/ and after downloading this version we found that the changelog file stated that version 1.9 was released to make the plugin compatible with PHP 8.0+.
The exact changelog entry states the below:
= 1.9 =
* PHP 8.0 compatibility. We have updated the plugins on both the staging and production environments for you as a one-off so that we could test and confirm the fix. In the future, it is important for you to ensure the latest versions of plugins and extensions are installed on your site to make sure it stays compatible with the latest versions of PHP nad WordPress.
Both the staging and production sites are running on PHP 8.1. Please confirm that all the issues are now fixed.
If you have any further queries or we can help you in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out again.
Have a great day!
Many thanks,

ParticipantHello Tom,
I’m using version SWPM Partial Protection and not swpm-full-page-protection, and my version is the purchased one.
The swpm-full-page-protection add-on is free and can be downloaded at any time.
As I don’t have a new download link for the SWPM Partial Protection add-on, I can’t download the new version, and I also know if it is updated and compatible with version 8 of PHP.

KeymasterThe partial protection addon is also a free addon. The download link is available on this page:
https://simple-membership-plugin.com/apply-partial-section-protection/Can you please let me know where you saw that this is a paid addon? If there is an indication somewhere that this is a paid addon, it needs to be fixed/updated.

ParticipantI’m sorry, I wrote the wrong add-on. Actually I meant email-notification-and-broadcast
I received the updated version that would be compatible with PHP version 8.
I just installed it and will check if it is working correctly, and let you know here.
