Hello,
I have two things I’d like to ask the people here, how do they get around these little problems:
Let’s say there are two Roles ( Silver and Gold ) each has a subscription of 1 month.
1. If a user has already a Silver role, he can purchase another Silver subscription and is being charged double… what can I do, so if a user is already Silver, to not allow him to buy another Silver?
2. If a user is Gold, how can I make it to where Gold role can also see content available to Silver. ( Silver has access to 1 part, Gold has access to 1 part and 2 part)
Please let me know how you get over these problems?
Okay, I figured out #2 – The Silver content, I just mark it as for Silver and Gold, that way both roles can see it.
But the first problem, I cannot seem to fix.
The cancellation of a subscription payment agreement with a payment gateway (paypal or stripe) is not automatic. So the customer or the merchant needs to cancel the subscription payment agreement. In your upgrade/downgrade plan page, add instructions in terms of how you will handle it on your site. Some prefer that the member contacts them and the merchant will cancel, some prefer that the member has a way to click on a button or link to proceed to cancellation.
The following documentation has information on how a subscription agreement cancellation can be handled. At the bottom of the pages there is info on how you can create a button that the member’s can use themselves:
