I have Coupons enabled through WooCommerce and have a coupon set up in Marketing. All Coupon sections are filled out correctly: 1) unique 26-character coupon code, 2) a description to receive $29 off a video through membership, 3) all General options updated (Fixed cart discount, 29 [$] and Coupon Expiry date. In addition, I have a minimum spend of $495 in Usage Restrictions, no maximum, correct category filled and a proper email that’s allowed. There are no Usage Limits.

When I go to Simple WP Membership Protection below this information, select Yes and the Membership Level then Update, the Simple WP Membership Protection reverts back to “No, Do not protect this content.”

I’m trying to create a one-size fits all coupon code for Members only that can be used and re-used due to their monthly Membership. When I test this as a non-member, the code works at the Cart level. I assume, this coupon gets cancelled if not the correct email address but I’d rather not have it at all if I can protect behind the Membership level.

Is there a reason this is not saving correctly or that it can’t Protect the Coupon? (Or is it just protecting the “Content” of the page?)

Hi, are you currently using the following addon?

    Thank you.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. No, I don’t have any Premium add-ons, only a few of the Free ones (After Login Redirection, Custom Post Type Protection, Partial Protection, Show Member Info).

I’m thinking that somehow the Membership Protection is on the Coupon page as part of a Global Setting but may not actually apply while trying to protect as an Admin? I just have one membership level (paid, recurring); there is no Free account registration.

    Hi,

Unfortunately you need our WooCommerce premium addon. This allows SMP to work with WooCommerce plugin, as per the instructions provided in the link I shared above.

    Regards.

I appreciate the information regarding the WooCommerce Premium Addon. I reviewed the page but there are no additional details about Coupon usage on the page. Is information on Coupon usage for this Addon in another section or on another page that I may have missed?

Let me explain how it works with woocomemrce so you understand where our plugin fits into this process.

When coupons are being applied via WooCommerce, our plugin has nothing to do with. It doesn’t know about any coupons nor does it care about it. Your woocommerce transaction (with the discount) is handled completely by woocomemrce. After the transaction, our plugin receives a notification from WooComemrce and then applies the membership level to the user’s profile (if the user purchased a membership level).

With that said, what you explained above with the discount is really not something that has any relation with the content project. Content protection is something that is controlled by our plugin. The protection will be there even if the wocommerce plugin is deactivated. The content protection saving works independently. There maybe some kind of conflict or other issue that is preventing the content protection saving functionality. You can do the following test to isolate things:

Thanks for the additional information regarding how the plugin works. I was wondering if the Content protection was just having an issue due to the content being a Coupon and WooCommerce was just rejecting it as a conflict. Regardless, I’ll review the WooCommerce Integration Addon as a possibility.

I appreciate the added insight. Thanks again!
