We have the same Problem. The Point is, that we get this message always if you Change your Password in the profile-menue. After submitting, the logout is forced (because the Password is changed). And then, the Server gets a Timing Problem and produce this error for the …/membership-login/membership-profile/.
If i reload it again, the Systems works fine and ask for loggin in.

    The logfile describe it:
[04/03/2018 2:17 PM] – SUCCESS: Member has updated the password from profile edit page. Logging the user out so he can re-login using the new password.
[04/03/2018 2:21 PM] – SUCCESS: After login redirection addon. Checking if member need to be redirected.

So, how would it possible to Change this redirection or submitting in a different way, that the System
    – go to a different page or
    – wait some seconds that the page i available after changing Password

    I hope you can help

    Hi,

    We have the same Problem.

Which problem are you referring too? Are you talking about someone else in this forum having the same problem as you?

The Point is, that we get this message always if you Change your Password in the profile-menue. After submitting, the logout is forced (because the Password is changed). And then, the Server gets a Timing Problem and produce this error for the …/membership-login/membership-profile/.
If i reload it again, the Systems works fine and ask for loggin in.

The timing out issue you mention above sounds like a server configuration problem.

The above log file is letting you know that everything was successful.

So, how would it possible to Change this redirection or submitting in a different way, that the System
    – go to a different page or
    – wait some seconds that the page i available after changing Password

Are you currently using the following addon?

    Looking forward to your replies.

    Kind regards

    I refer to the posting
    https://simple-membership-plugin.com/forums/topic/logout-creates-502-bad-gateway-nginx/
    from december 2016.

I install the following addon, but nothing is changed.

Do you have an idea how to change the system that this error-message doesn´t come? I can create a test account for you if it helps to show what the problem is. this error comes always if you change the passwort at the profile-page /membership-login/membership-profile/ . Then the system initiate a logout (i thinnk because the password is changed and doesn´t fit with the login data) and doesn´t find the page. the the error-message -502 Bad Gateway nginx- comes. after reload, the prfile-page shows “you are not logged on”.

@Ulli — Are you using a CDN like Cloudflare? Also, does your nginx (server) error log contain any detail that covers the time frame of when the error occurred?

@the assurer I am not sure. I ask my Provider. I didn´t have my own Server there. it´s only a normal wordpress-hosting-service. But may be that a view in the error log helps to find the Problem. I think it has to do with the timing. However, thanks for the hint. may be that we come forward step by step.

The Providers improve the buffer for the nginx-Webserver. Now it works fine!
