ParticipantI know very early on in my Simple Membership Plugin days – I requested some code to show the member ID of a member. Code was very kindly presented, and we integrated it in on our profile page.
Members are missing the code (as it doesn’t lay inside the Profile form) – and common feedback is that members would like it be incorporated in the form.
Please, please, please could you get this included?
Our members need their membership number so they can qualify for special rates for certain products and I’d like to present this to them in with the rest of their details.
Regards,
Michael

ParticipantNo, that’s what we’re using at the moment. But we want it to be a field on the profile form. Having everything wrapped in the form looks neater and gives users a consistent look and feel.
For example, the form contains the member level (I.e. paid or free) and we want to display the membership number in the same way.

Michael

KeymasterWe generally like to show things in the edit profile area that the members understand. The member ID is a system generated number that only the admin should have to know about. I am not sure how most of our other users will find this update when it starts to show this number (after an upgrade).
I can introduce a filter hook in the plugin that you can use to insert the member ID value inside the profile table using your custom code. Will that work?

ParticipantIdeally it’d be great if it was a simple drop in form field… whilst for the majority of people it won’t matter, for our car club the membership number is required to be given to insurers to ensure they receive a member discount.
Even though we display it on the profile page it gets over looked, as things like the membership level are automatically shown.
So, please, please please can it not be a field that could be added using the form builder?
Regards,
Michael

KeymasterJust to confirm, you are using the form builder addon?

ParticipantYes that’s correct, hence me suggesting an optional form field could be a great way to go about this.
It would give everyone who has the form builder an option of whether to show this field or not.
Thanks so much for your assistance.

KeymasterI have added a field called “Member ID” in the custom form fields. This field can be added to the profile edit field (it shows the Member ID of the member). I have sent you an update via email.

ParticipantThat update is perfect!
It’s really smart – and it’s allowed me to put it in the section I have for the member level…
Please build this into future updates!
I’m really happy – thank you!
Regards,
Michael
