InactiveCurrently my free members just register, and they immediately receive an email saying “Your registration is now complete”.
I would prefer that they receive an email with a link to click on to confirm.
How do I set that up please?
Thank you.

ModeratorHi Mary, at present you need the Form Builder addon when adding free membership accounts.

InactiveThanks mbr. I don’t need the Form Builder for building a form, but I don’t mind spending the money on it to have the benefit of that link. It’s a good investment.
BTW, I don’t think I told you that I believe all the problems I had before with SM and Membership2 Pro were due to my server on GoDaddy. I had other problems too that I would fix and then something else would go wrong, but through a very strange series of coincidences I ended up changing servers, and everything has been running perfectly ever since. Hallelujah! I wasted a whole year but things are good now.
I’m now with OVH, I have 8 GB RAM for less money than I was paying GoDaddy for 4 GB, AND big bonus, GoDaddy charges $5.98/mo US for a dedicated IP. These guys charge $3 per IP – one time only – no monthly fees. It means that all of my client’s can have their own dedicated IP.
Anyway, I will invest in the Form Builder. Thanks again for all your help!!!!

ModeratorHi Mary, I am happy to hear that you finally solved your issues.
I think in the future the developers will add that option to the Free membership signup. But I am not sure. However the Form Builder addon gives you lots of fields you might consider adding in the future. So all in all it is a good investment for the money you pay.
My humble opinion.
Kind regards

InactiveI have purchased and installed the Form Builder but at this point it doesn’t send an email link for confirmation. It says my registration is complete. No email.
I am on your support site at http://mbrsolution.com/wordpress/wordpress-simple-membership-form-builder.php but am still a little confused re instructions for Confirmation and Notification.
Confirmation says “After someone submits a form, you can control what is displayed.” Currently it says “Registration is complete” and that’s how I did my test.
Please Note: I tried submitting the form without all the required fields filled in. I got the message that “Registration is complete”, although I couldn’t login. Instead, I should have received notification that the required fields were not filled in.
So should this message be changed to “Look for an email with a link to click”? and then how do I generate that link?
I assume this has to do with the Notification / Confirmation Email but then what is the point of the Confirmation Email if it comes before the link is clicked?
Sorry for my confusion. What am I missing?
Also, by using this form, will it use the same fields as my buddypress profile fields?

ModeratorHi Mary, I forgot to update that part in the tutorial. Currently the Free signup does not send a confirmation e-mail with a link. But you can redirect all the sign ups to a link with some instructions, for example. This is something that the plugin developers will probably address sometime in the future.
In regards to BuddyPress profile fields, I think not. You might want to create a premium support ticket.
Let me know if you need more help.

InactiveBut I thought you were saying that I needed to buy the Form Builder to have this feature. That was the reason I bought it.

ModeratorPerhaps that was my mistake. What I should have mentioned is that the Form Builder addon provides you with two options when Free members sign up.
- Settings -> Confirmation
- Settings -> Notification
Both option above will help you further, which is more than the simple membership form provides. However as in my previous comment above I did state that the Free sign up does not send a confirmation e-mail with a link like the premium sign up. I also stated that this is something that the developers will probably address some time in the future.
I do apologies for the misleading or wrong information. You should be able to apply for a refund for the Form Builder addon.
My apologies.
