Hi,
The email that admin receives when a member registers seems to repeat the member’s surname twice, instead of having the first name and surname. I can’t see any way to change this, so assume it’s coded in the core.
Also, that email shows both the member’s name and password. Surely it’s not appropriate for the member’s password to be emailed to admin? Firstly, it’s not encrypted, but more importantly, people often use the same passwords for various accounts, so it’s a privacy and security breach for passwords to be sent to admin. Can I suggest that the password is not forwarded with the membership details to the admin email address?
Many thanks,
David
Hi David, the plugin developers will investigate further your request.
Thank you
It simply copies the same text that was sent to the member.
Different people want different things so do the following to customize the email content for your needs.
1) Go to the following section of the plugin:
Simple Membership -> Settings -> Email Settings -> Email Settings (Registration Complete)
2) Edit the value of the “Email Body” field and remove the password tag from there.
Hi,
Thanks for your help.
I’ve resolved the double last name issue, but I think the password issue remains a problem. I can understand why an email going to the registrant with their password is useful, but perhaps developers could consider for future releases removing the password from the admin notification irrespective of what might be in the template for the member email itself?
Many thanks 🙂
