Simple Membership looks like what I could make good use of but I’m having a problem with the installation.

Installed as per instructions, but I may have missed something.

I checked and all the pages (e.g. Login, Join Us, etc. were created during the installation. And the permalink looks correct in the configuration.

I’ve set up a Free and a second level that will be paid, and I have one test post that is protected.

When I go to my site Under the test post I see the You need to login… message and the link for Login or Join Us.

Clicking either of those links gets me a 404 Not Found error for the associated page.

My site is set up with SSL but the rest of the WP site is working just fine so I don’t think that is an issue here.

Did I miss something in my WP configuration that Simple Membership plug in requires to work correctly?

Has anyone else seen this with the latest and greatest WP release?

    Thanks,
    Burt

I figured it out, or at least got it working.

    I needed to go back in my WP settings and change my WP and Site address URLs to https: from http;

It had appeared to be working but I also could not access my test post directly via the link in the sidebar, but it would appear OK on the front page when configured that way in WP. After changing from http to https in the configuration I now am getting the missing pages for Simple Membership just fine.

So tomorrow I can finish the full set up and testing and then make it real.

Hi Burt, so your issue is resolved. Is that correct?

    Yes,

That initial issue was resolved. For whatever reason the .htaccess redirection wasn’t handling the above mentioned configuration URLs for WP. All the others it handled with or without https being specified instead of http. After making that change in WP config then I got the missing Simple Membership pages appearing.

I have a second issue that I’m chasing now, which doesn’t appear to be related to any issue with http vs https in the URLs in configuration (they are all now changed from http to https..

I’ll create a new topic for that issue so it doesn’t get confusing.

    Thanks,
    Burt
