ParticipantWhile your plugin works excellent for paying members cuz they receive a link to activate their membership, your plugin doesn’t provide security for my free members. When they sign up (many times with a false or bogus email address) they immediately are registered as active and are given the login link.
Would it be possible to implement a similar system for free members that their account status is only changed to active when they respond to a link in the email they get like for paying members.
So the thing would be to mark their account to inactive upon registration until they successfully return the link given in the email upon which their account is set to active.
Right now I still have a couple of hundred free users to check if their email is valid.January 3, 2016 at 11:09 pm #4728mbrsolution
ModeratorHi, you might like to read more about the Form Builder Add-on?

ParticipantThat’s a nice Add-on, but it doesn’t customize the email registration page and the return value for valid email.
I’m willing to pay for what I asked for tho. Thanks.January 5, 2016 at 7:31 am #4771admin
KeymasterThe only option I can think of at the moment is the manual approval feature (if you are having a big issue with fake signups)

ParticipantHi,
I’m posting into this thread rather creating a new one since what I’m looking for in described here.
Plugin is really great and I’m achieving everything I want BUT this {reg_link} for free users is a real problem.
I read the answer you have about it which would be to turn free users to pending but this will involve that you manually accept users. 2 problems about that; it cannot be automatic (user will wait until you physically can set him to active) and that would require a lot of time in case you’re getting too many users. It also won’t prevent you from fake users since it just set the user from pending to active without sending the {reg_link} email.
{reg_link} for free users would be much appreciated since that’s the only automatic process that would prevent fake users from registering to your site.
Wether you decide to make it for free or as an advanced paying option I’ll definitely have it with you. Your plugin is giving me all the needed functionnality but this one and it’s real pain.
Regards.
