To avoid forgotten usernames and to limit any additional complexity for the user, when a user registers, can I just have them enter a email and password instead of a username?
Thanks,
Tony
Hi, yes you can have the members enter their e-mail address as the user name and a password.
Thanks for your reply. Where would I go to change ‘username’ to ’email’ in the form?
Hi are you using the Form Builder Add-on? Or simply the form that comes with the plugin?
The form that comes with the plugin.
Hi unfortunately you can’t edit the field name.
The has to fill in a username value in the “username” field. What we can do is allow the user log into the site using his email address and password (if that will help). So the member can enter his username OR email address in the username field of the login widget to log into the site.
How do I allow the user to log into the site using email or username?
thanks
@tholmes, have you tested to see if you can add the e-mail address as the username?
