    I found out Paypal charges 35 cents for each click…even if it’s a Free one?

    That means if 100 sign up that is $35 and 1,000 w/b $350. Oh dear.

    I tried to add the .35 on the Free one explaining the Trial is Free, but the paypal charge isn’t.

    Thanks

    Hi, Merry Christmas ~*~

    Paypal charges fees for customers to use.

    There are several plans but the typical plans charge:

    $30 a month +
    2.9% of the amount charged +
    .30 (changing to 35 cents in 2016, I hear)

    3.9% for International each transaction
    3.1% + .30 domestic for Virtual (phone) + 1% across “border”

    These amounts are ok. The problem is that every Free Paypal “charge” costs the business owner. The .35 will be deducted from our checking account…which could add up due to spammers and looky-loos.
    ~~~~~
    Let’s say Membership = $29.00
    29.00
    (.84) 2.9% of $29
    (.35) each paypal transaction
    ——
    27.81 This is not a problem and used to accounting for it.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    It’s just each PP transaction will be deducted even if it’s 0.00.
    So we LOSE Money on Free Trials.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Unless you see something different in PP Terms. Then please send me that link.
    I may have solved it with adding .35 and explaining it on my Join Us page.
    Just a thought to your Great Plugin in case you want to add another Field to Free like … Limit # ____ each month.
    Then we can determine how many we want to budget for…say, if we enter 50, then we know we won’t be charged anymore than $17 for the month, or whatever number we choose. 😀
    The merchant fee that PayPal charges is not something we can control or deal with. PayPal also has different transaction charge rate for different countries and stuff.
    When you run a business, you are always going to have expenses and transaction costs. The best way to handle this is to price your products and services accordingly (so you can cover your expenses).
