WordPress Membership Plugin
Simple Membership Plugin › Forums › Simple Membership Plugin › Logout link does not work consistently
Regardless of whether I use the logout link that the plugin creates automatically or when I manually created, it does not always work.
It seems to work fine when I am logged in as a “manager” (which is linked to an “Administrator” role in WP), but does not work when I am logged in as a “client” (which is linked to a “Subscriber” role in WP). When logged in as a “Client,” clicking the logout link returns me to the login screen (as desired), but when I try to login as a different user (without clearing cookies or cache), I am taken to the account information page, where it shows that I’m still logged in as the previous user.
I installed the “Import WP Users” add-on, thinking maybe that would help link the two accounts so that a logout of SMP would also log the user out of WP completely and that would fix the problem, but it didn’t work.
Any advice?
Did you install WordPress in a sub directory?
It’s on a subdomain, so yes. (There’s actually a WordPress install on the main domain and another install on the subdomain.)
Can you provide more information? Is installing this on a subdomain not supported?
it should support subdomain. all you need to make sure is, both login and logout url must be in the same domain. because when you log in, a cookie is dropped in the path. so the logout link needs to be in the same path to be able to pick up the cookie and delete it.
