I use the Importer Plugin to import members without a password.

I now wish to invite all members by writing to them and inviting them to log-in and then ask them to reset their password as part of the process.

I have tried myself (as a test member) to reset my password, but the password reset link never arrives at the destination email.

I am using FluentSMTP to manage emails from my site. All the test are positive, but no emails are sent.

    Many thanks,
    Peter

Step 1: Verify that the plugin has executed the password reset sending email. Enable the debug logging option (if you haven’t done so already) and then do a test password reset action.

Check the log file, You should see the following line in there:

Member password reset email sent to: <EMAIL>

    Do you see it?

Step 2: If you see the above mentioned line in the log file, then the plugin has executed the sending of that email. Ask your hosting provider why that email didn’t reach the inbox.

    Many thanks.

The issue seems to have been an MX records. I have avoided it by now using Brevo to send transactional emails.

Apologies if this is a duplicate.: I lost my last reply somehow:

    1) Transactional emails now working using FluentSMTO and Brevo.

    2) Is there a way to generate and share a temporary password with imported members AFTER import?

Owing to the transactional email issue, now solved, we were unable to use the “Send Registration Complete email”.

Is there a way to send this email now that all members are imported, or would we need to delete all members, and go through the process agin, now that we know the transactional emails are going out successfully?

Thank you for your very helpful support responses.

Need to delete and then re-import to trigger the emails. The following addon might come in handy to reset the members data so you can re-import:

    Thank you for this.

A question: which of the email templates will be used to generate the emails informing the members that they have been added to the new website and to reset their included password?

    Many thanks…

It uses the “Registration Complete” email that you configure within the “Email Settings” menu of the Simple Membership plugin.
