Tagged: bulk import, Membership Level, website field
Hi!
I have read through the instructions, and downloaded the example CSV.
However in the example CSV file, there is no column/field for password. In this case, I am only importing First Name, Last Name, email, business name, and *website*. I realize that there is a note which says custom fields cannot be imported. What do we do? Enter manually? There also doesn’t seem to be a field/column for Membership Level.
We are prepared to use the paid Custom Form Addon, but the sequence of events is unclear from the instructions, especially password, whether to add user_name with their email, etc, and whether the column names are going to remain or not.
Should we then define a new custom form, and only then import the fields above, once there are equivalent field/column headers?
Or should we invite all exisitng members (created before using the simple -membership-plugin, using external email and invite them to create a username (and defining the use of email = user mail), and them add themselves manually, and update their profiles?
Would have been nice to invite them to login to a partially create membership entry.
Thanks,
Peter
Passwords cannot be exported/imported between different platforms. Each platform encrypts passwords using different salt values and algorithms. Members will have to reset their passwords when logging into the SWPM system for the first time.
