Hi support,
I’m building a new site for a client with an existing member base on a 3rd party platform and have manually added a number of clients who are on a Stripe subscription package.
I’ve searched through your docs and can’t see any reference to this specific question, hence this forum topic.
Do I need to enter anything in the ‘Subscriber ID/Reference’ field of each member? I don’t have visibility of my client’s Stripe account so can’t work out how Stripe references a specific member if their subscription payment were to stop so that the website can be notified and membership is revoked. Is there a reference or ID I need to get from Stripe to manually enter into each user profile?
Thanks,
Mark
Almost every payment platform has safeguards to prevent moving/hijacking recurring subscriptions (payment contracts) from one plugin or website to another.
The recommendation is to setup an expiring membership period for existing members, and then cancel any recurring Stripe payment contracts. The members must then subscribe to a new recurring subscription.
Ok, thanks for the clarification.
