The setup is through an app so, clients use it via phone. We have about ten users who log in regularly and I see their activity daily. Then along comes this guy who keeps getting the invalid login info (missing or invalid password). I can log in with his credentials with no problem. If I reset his password and he can get in, then can’t. We have also tried going straight through the browser but same issue. We’ve cleared buffers, rebooted, deleted, and recreated his membership multiple times but it still keeps coming up. He has the same phone I do. I’m fishing for ideas, thanks.

Side note: the owner of the app had a problem and we narrowed it down to his router. Can’t get on through browser. Can get on if he uses cellular.

Please be more specific, because SWPM has no “app.”

There is code within the Apple and iPhone developer setup that enables you to turn a website into an app.

WPMobile is a plugin that make is easy.

It’s really irrelevant to the issue since the same thing occurs through the browser.

I understand you are describing an issue that only happens to a particular member; and that it happens even if he is using a browser. I am assuming, that he is using the browser on his phone as well? What if he uses a browser, on a device OTHER than his phone???

The browser is a desktop. He does not use the browser on the phone. Not so sure if is just one user. The guy I built the app for could not get in and we discovered that, if he uses cellular in his office, he can get in. He can’t get in via desktop browser in the office.

Are there error logs I can look at?

Not sure if I mentioned this before but when I try to log in with his credentials it does not always work. That could be not getting the password right. I’m working on putting some script in so there is a button to see the password.

Going back to “is it one user”. I do see folks that have signed up but never logged in. He may be the only one I know of.

We’ve seen situations like this before; especially in educational and high security businesses. You need to get his network administrator involved.

For that situation, the user has gotten use to going cellular. It’s a home office so, not much in the way of network administrators. Would be nice to have more info (eg. SWPM has to be assigned to a port).

Now, about the guy who can’t log in. He is still having issues and something interesting is going on: Yesterday morning and this morning I received a message saying “A new member has completed the registration” and it’s his Username. Just got done talking with him and he has done nothing over the past two days.

That jsounds like an account or email hack. Since it only seems to be happening to just him; my suspicion is either an email hack or a malware issue on his end. In the absence of any evidence outside that one user or your SWPM installation; it may have something to do with his phone or home network.
