Advanced Variables code with Paypal Personal Account?

I am setting up the Simple Membership Plugin for a client and have discovered that they do not have a Paypal Business account so therefore don’t have Merchant Button Options. I can’t seem to create a Paypal payment button that has the Advanced Variables option in a Paypal Personal Account so I have nowhere to input that extra Advanced Variables code. Is there another way to create the button with a Paypal Personal Account? Am I just looking in the incorrect place to create a payment button or is my client going to need to have a Business Account?
