Hi,
I’ve got the full page protection add-on installed and I’ve tried to secure urls with /uploads/ in the path, but when I enter the URL of one of the files (a PDF) the file downloads and isn’t blocked. Is this because the PDF path isn’t managed by WP? The item in the media manager; its info page, can be ‘managed’ and limited to a group/role, but the PDF itself seems to fall outside the control of the page protection/membership manager. Very appreciative of your thoughts and potential solutions.

WordPress does not natively manage or protect files. You want to use something, like our Simple Download Monitor:

It has the ability to obfuscate file URL. You will have to keep the files, in a different server directory.
