In the last week, reCaptcha haas not been stopping the hundreds of spam registration…has something changed?
I now installed the Enterprise reCaptcha, hoping that would work better….but I get the error “ERROR for site owner: Invalid key type”
I am most certain it is the correct key etc, as it was newly created following the instructions. (I could be missing something).
I had to disable the basic version in order to activate the enterprise version. Interestingly the fields were already filled with the old info…which leads me to think there is some error or update missing in the plugin?
I also deleted completely the plugin, reinstalled…and the key details were already filled in.

What has happened in the last week or so, is that OpenAI has given ChatGPT the ability to solve reCAPTCHA puzzles.
The error message means the “Key Type” V2 or V3 is incorrect. Please review this documentation and create the correct key type.

I created a new key, only adding the extra check boxes, and now it works…not sure the dif…
Anyway, I hope the enterprise version somehow helps prevent the recent onslot.
Thank you for your time!
How to torment Bing AI or any other AI model… ask it something and reply with the comeback: “Whatever you say, Eliza.”
One other place you should check is the following settings of core WordPress. Some sites keep that enabled which can attract a lot of spam registrations as well. Our plugin doesn’t use that option so you should keep it disabled:
