ParticipantHi,
When a link is sent out for member to complete registration they get this page: http://vip.hikingwithdean.com/index.php/membership-registration/
How do I get them to see the form. I’ve tried the various ways to protect/not protect
Thanks

ModeratorHi, are you referring to Free or Paid membership?
August 5, 2015 at 10:51 pm #2565collabora
ParticipantI don’t have free (its disabled in settings), just paid. The link, and email with the link, was generated at Simple WP Membership::Settings – Tools for a single (test) member (created in Admin) that has Active Membership/non-free access

ModeratorDid you create the paid button under the following path WP Membership -> Payments -> Create New Button?

ParticipantYes, I have, but I haven’t deployed it yet. I think I read in the docs that buyer will be sent to the same reg link? So far I am only testing with imported users and test users created in admin. If its not working for test users I am thinking it will not work for the shopper?

ModeratorYou have to add a Return URL. In that return URL you add the following shortcode
[swpm_thank_you_page_registration]This will allow your users to complete paid registration from the thank you page after payment.

ParticipantSee OP. In Email Settings (Prompt to Complete Registration )
This email will be sent to prompt users to complete registration after the payment.
————————————-
Dear {first_name} {last_name}Thank you for joining us!
Please complete your registration by visiting the following link:
{reg_link}
Thank You
——————————————————–There is also a link generator “You can manually generate a registration completion link here and give it to your customer if they have missed the email that was automatically sent out to them after the payment.” It looks like this for Member ID=1
http://vip.hikingwithdean.com/index.php/membership-join/membership-registration/?member_id=1&code=
Do only FREE members ever see these links?

ModeratorYou mentioned about a test user you created. Did you go through the whole process of signing up as a paid member?

Participantnot yet….i will though. just used an imported user and one created in admin

Participant….above I should say, not one that paid via your paypal button (only my button) and made acive manually
August 6, 2015 at 4:56 pm #2588collabora
ParticipantIt works good when Paypal button is used. I see that members from Paypal have a token at the end of the REG url, however at the Tools section there is no code in the REG link
Now I can re-word my question better. I have over 50 members that already paid before I had my membership site set up. I exported them from paypal, imported them into WP, and then used your add-on to import into Simple Membership. What is the best way to get them to complete their profile with a login password? (Instead of me doing each one manually and sending notice)

ModeratorHi, now your question makes more sense. As far as I know there is no setting in the plugin to submit a request to users to update their profile. If I may suggest you might consider sending an e-mail to all 50 members you imported, using BCC e-mail option asking them to update their profile.
The other option is to type a small message in the profile page reminding users to update their profile.

Participantbut wait, don’t they have to log in first? They won’t know their username or password (hence the idea of sending them to the reg page first)
