MailerLite is an email marketing software that allows you to create email campaigns. An email marketing software is generally used to push promotional emails to a similar target audience in an attempt to grow a business.
MailerLite can be compared to other email marketing companies such as MailChimp and ConvertKit.
How Does This Integration Work?
When a user completes the membership registration process on your website, their email address is automatically added to the list that you specify.
- A user visits your site and registers for a membership account.
- The member’s email address is added to the list.
- At a later time, you have the option to send email campaign messages to this user.
Steps for Using the MailerLite Integration Add-on
The following steps will explain how to install, setup and use the MailerLite add-on for the Simple Membership Plugin.
Step 1: Install the MailerLiter Add-on for Simple Membership.
To install the add-on all you need to do is install it like anyother WordPress plugin. Once you have purchased the add-on from the bottom of this page, you will need to do the following to install and setup the add-on.
- Click on the Add New button under the Plugins menu.
- Click on the Upload Plugin button.
- Choose the Addon File.
- Click the Install Now button.
- Activate the plugin.
Step 2: Configuring the MailerLite Addon
To configure the MailerLite addon for Simple Membership, follow the instructions below:
#1: The MailerLite addon menu can be found by clicking on the Settings menu under WP Membership then click MailerLite.
#2: Enter in your MailerLite API Key in the appropriate field. This can be found in your MailerLite account.
#3: Check the optional options you many need for your site.

#4: Click the Save button.
You have now completed the configuration of this addon. You will need to complete the next section so that customers who sign up for specific memberships are added to your desired MailerLite email marketing group.
Step 3: Adding the MailerLite Group Name to a Simple Membership Membership Level
Now that you have configured the MailerLite addon, you can specify which membership levels will collect your customer’s email address. You may have multiple groups so you will need to decide which group you would like to send customers information to that become members of your site.
#1: Click on the Membership Levels menu under WP Membership.
#2: Edit the membership level that you wish to add a MailerLite group too. By adding a ‘MailerLite Group‘, all the details of customers signs up for a membership level will be sent to your email marketing software.
#3: Specify the ‘MailerLite Group Name‘ (in the appropriate field) you want customers to be signed up to when they become a member of the membership level. Ensure the group name is exactly the same as in your MailerLite account with no added spaces.
#4: Click the Save Membership Level button when you are done editing the membership level.
#5: Complete a test membership signup of this membership level to ensure the customer’s information is being sent successfully to the right MailerLite Group.
