I am the webmaster for a woodturning group and we are using Simple Membership to manage our membership through out website.

When I set up the system, we had a calendar year membership scheme where anyone who joined through the first 10 months of the calendar year was considered to be paid for the calendar year. Once the new year began, people had until Feb. 28 to renew without loosing their member privileges. So each membership type was set up for a calendar year expiring on Feb. 28 of the following year.

Now my Board wants to consider making each membership based on anniversary date. Is there any way to simply convert the existing membership types to anniversary date, or will I have to manually change each member? If I create a new membership type based on anniversary date, and then transition existing members to that new type, will the anniversary date be based on their actual anniversary date, or on the date I changed them to the new member type?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

This can be a bit challenging if I understand correctly what you are trying to achieve. For example: You want to change the membership period of a member to an anniversary date, which can be any date of the year. If that is the case then I think your best option is to create a membership upgrade button. The following documentation explains how this process works. If they are subscription members, then you will have to get them to cancel their current subscription to begin a new subscription based on their anniversary date.

    Kind regards.
