    Hello,

I have a question about how the plugin handles account upgrades.

I have a website that has free accounts and 2 paid membership levels. Some people sign up as a paid membership right away; however, so people upgrade after they have been a free member.

The problem is that they need to create a new account after paying, they cannot simply upgrade their account through their existing account. This also means they need a new username and email address. I have noticed on a few of my paid members (that were previously free), they needed to set up a second account.

Surely, I am just not seeing how to set this up correctly or the user’s flow to do this in an easier way. Thanks for your advice on fixing this issue.

A second issue that happened this morning was a paid member signed up but for some reason the username came through blank… which meant they could not login to their WP Membership account. Was this just a technical glitch? From what I can see the ‘username’ field is required and it will not let you submit the registration form until it is filled it.

    Thanks for the help!
    Amy

Hi Amy, as far as I know there is no current automatic process for members to upgrade to a paid account.

You could add a PayPal button on a Free membership page and allow free members to pay for a premium membership level. Once they pay for the membership level specified by the PayPal button and you receive a PayPal confirmation, you then upgrade their account manually. Enable the following Notify User in the Members tab. They would then receive an e-mail letting them know that their account has been upgraded from a free membership level to the premium membership level they paid for.

In regards to your other issue can you enable debug mode and check the log file.

    Thank you
