ParticipantHi
I am a newbie and wanted to ask if it is possible to do the following
1. New member completes registration form and is sent an activation email to confirm email address
1.2 New member clicks email msg link to confirm email address
1.3 New member is sent an auto email to advise that their new registration is pending and requires admin approvalMy goal is to ensure the email address is confirmed and then for admin to approve membership before account login can be undertaken. At present I can set new registrations to ‘pending’ and the new member is sent an email to advise:
‘Your account is under review. You will be able to log into the site after an admin approves your account’
But in the standard pending process the new member never has to confirm their email address via an email msg link and the burden is on ‘admin’ to activate a pending member and has no way of knowing if the email address is valid and if they have many members pending (for free accounts) this is a risk, as all the new member has to do, with a fake email address, is wait a period and do a test login to see if admin has approved the registration.
I want to give free access to protected pages on my wordpress site but I want the new member email address confirmed via a link sent by email and once the link is clicked registration to be then placed under ‘pending’, at present the only email activation link emails that can be sent auto activate a new account once clicked on and this is not helpful for me.
Thanks

ParticipantFound a ‘solution’, when a ‘pending’ member is activated by admin, they visit the log in page and and when username and password entered they are prompted to enter a code sent to their email address (two factor), using plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/two-factor/

ParticipantAfter some trial and error, decided to create own registration form, using the Formidable plugin and
then manually add the details submitted to my ‘WP Membership’ registration page (hidden) and when submitted
the new member gets an activation link via email. The two-factor plugin mentioned above it did not actually have
any affect and refreshing the page showed the new member was actually logged in!Would prefer settings option/process to be:
1. Prospective new member completes ‘WP Membership’ registration form
2. Then auto email sent to new member, with unique generated link to confirm email address
(cannot login at this stage)
3. Then new member gets an auto email (after clicking email address confirmation link) to say new account is pending admin approval
(cannot login at this stage)
4. Once admin manually approves, new member gets an email with account details:– User name
– Email address
– Password
– Login pageand can now login.
