ParticipantHi,
Activation is setup on our client site, but the email will not send / is not received unless the user clicks the link to resend the activation email…
You need to activate your account. If you didn’t receive an email then click here to resend the activation email.
Doesn’t go into junk etc. Comes through fine after clicking the resend link every time though….
Any ideas how to resolve this asap?
Thanks

KeymasterEnable the debug logging feature. Then do a test registration. It will show in the log file if the plugin is executing the email sending code or not (after the registration). Then you will know if the issue is in the configuration or this is an email delivery issue.
How to enable the debug logging option in the plugin:

ParticipantHi,
See attached logs – is there an issue with the plugin or the email?

ModeratorHi, I checked both log files and only one of the log files showed some failures. However the failure only occurred to some and not all. Can you verify if this is happening to all who register or only a few?
Thank you

ParticipantHi,
I think it is some not all – when we tested it with a yahoo and gmail email address, it didn’t send the email to either unless you clicked ‘resend the activation email’ link….
Thanks

ModeratorHi,
If it is some and not all, can you confirm that those that don’t receive the email the first time, it is landing in their spam box? Sometimes emails don’t land in the inbox but instead they land in the spam box.
If the above is correct we recommend the following troubleshooting tips.

Thank you

ParticipantHi,
No it is not going through to spam either. The client confirmed this by forwarding emails from their clients which state nothing came through at all – even to spam.
We also tested this and nothing cam through to spam either using two different email addresses.
What can we do to fix this?
It has been a week now since the first ticket…

KeymasterThis site has some email feature as far as our plugin is concerned. This is a very site specific issue. It is not something we can solve with this free support ticket since it will require a developer to spend couple of hours going though all your setup configuration and what other plugins you are using and checking what else is happening on this site. Please try a different plugin and hopefully that plugin will work better with your current server environment.

ParticipantWe cannot just use another plugin – we have been using the SMP plugin on this site for years…..
Can you quote to look at the issue?
