ParticipantHi,
I’ve setup a site with Buddypress (BP) and want to allow some people free access to the BP section and want to charge a subscription to others. Is this possible?
I’m most concerned about profiles and login/registration etc. I like the way they work and feel in BP. I’ve use Simple membership alone on a site and it works quite well and is intuitive.
Can someone guide me throughout the steps to set up this type of system?
Thanks
ChristianPS: My theme is BuddyBoss (both WP and BuddyBoss are the latest versions). Thanks

Participanthi,
we have developed a bbpress addon but thats not released yet. but we don’t have anything for buddypress..May 26, 2015 at 12:38 am #1864nur
Participanton a separate note, you don’t really need any integration addon to get buddypress work. when you log into simple membershipo system, it also programetically logs you into wordpress system. so buddypress should work seamlessly.

ParticipantThanks. So it sounds like simple membership would allow me to restrict access to the whole site. But Once in the site I can’t selectively turn off buddy press to certain members. I guess the confusion is that buddy press has nice custom field profiles. If I use simple membership to restrict access will the profiles be buddy press profiles or the simple membership ones?

KeymasterYou can tell simple membership plugin to give a specific ROLE to your members/users. So the members of some levels can have a different role and based on that role, you can do different things in BuddyPress for those users.
Let me know if that will work for you.

InactiveI am trying to do the same thing. Currently I’m trying to remove the Register link in the BuddyPress login widget or make it go to the SM register page.
I can change the URL in BuddyPress to go to the SM registration page but it puts the BuddyPress default registration form on the page instead of actually using my page.
I’m thinking that the best way to avoid this problem is just to remove the Register link in the login box. If anyone can help me do that I would be most grateful.
Thanks!
