ParticipantUp to this point I have been using the standard thank you page
https://www.hikingwithdean.com/thank-you/. With my site redesign I want to use the Thank You page as the registration page. I created a new onehttps://www.hikingwithdean.com/vip-thank-you/and changed the Return URLs in plugin’s Payment Buttons manager. After member pays they get redirected to
https://www.hikingwithdean.com/vip-thank-you/but all the see is:“If you have just made a membership payment then your payment is yet to be processed. Please check back in a few minutes. An email will be sent to you with the details shortly.”
There is no form there
The email received maintains the old thank you page at
https://www.hikingwithdean.com/thank-you/in {reg_link}Do I need to keep the slug of the the Thank You page /thank-you? Or am I missing something else? Thanks

ParticipantI did some more tinkering and changed the return url in Paypal manager (i thought that was controlled by button) and things are better. I still have question.
Now paid member goes to page with the following:
“Click on the following link to complete the registration.
Click here to complete your paid registration”
The link sends member to the usual registration page and form. Is that correct? I was thinking that the [swpm_thank_you_page_registration] shortcode provides the form on same page as Thank You page

ModeratorHi,

Are you talking about your PayPal account? Or are you talking about the Return URL in the following documentation?

When the members land on the thank you page after the payment, they will be given an option to complete the paid registration there.
Let me know if you need more information or help.
Thank you

ParticipantAs mentioned above, In OP was referring to the plugin setting:
“Return URLs in plugin’s Payment Buttons manager.”
In my second post I am referring to the Paypal site:
“changed the return url in Paypal manager”
When you say
“When the members land on the thank you page after the payment, they will be given an option to complete the paid registration there.”Do you mean that the form is right there or do they have to click on the link which takes them to the Registration page? Currently, on my site, there is a link they need to click on. The link has user ID and a token as part of url just like the one in email notice.

ModeratorHi,

For testing purposes, can you remove the URL in the PayPal settings site.
The form should open up in that page.
Kind regards

ModeratorOkay just to confirm with you. What happens now when someone registers to become a member in your site? Can you provide step by step.
Thank you

ParticipantI just created a new test. After payment, member is redirected by paypal to my thank you page with the notice:
If you have just made a membership payment then your payment is yet to be processed. Please check back in a few minutes. An email will be sent to you with the details shortly.
Shortcode I am using:
[swpm_thank_you_page_registration]Member receives email with link to registration page, as usual

It means the Thank You page was displayed before the payment IPN was processed. There is no one particular reason for why this happens; but it is mostly related to network delays and hosting issues. The only remediation for this is to have the user refresh the page “in a few minutes.”

ParticipantAfter refresh I get the notice:
Click on the following link to complete the registration.

ModeratorWho is your hosting provider, and which hosting package are you using?
February 28, 2019 at 2:20 pm #17444collabora
Participanthttps://www.stablehost.com/web-hosting.phpPlatinum plan(I see now, I must have checked the resolved box instead of followup box)

ModeratorThe issue is not something that can be resolved here. We have no control over “how fast” PayPal sends the IPN to your server; nor can we make your server process the IPN “faster.” However, if the issue is regularly consistent; it is more likely than not, being caused near or within, your hosting provider. Because you are paying for the highest tier from your hosting provider, perhaps they can offer assistance, if you can show the IPN is being received late, on a regular basis.

ParticipantBut after the IPN is received (and page is refreshed) there is no form, just a link to the form
