    I tested a live payment through Stripe. The box was checked:

    Enable this option if you want to collect customer address during Stripe checkout.

    An address was asked for during the payment process for the credit card, which appears in the Stripe dashboard.

    Is the address supposed to get added anywhere on the member’s profile however?

    “No.” The credit card billing address is not passed back to SWPM. Many people use one address for billing, another for mail, and live at another.

    I’m confused.. what exactly does checking that button do then? There was no address collected except for the payment address.

    At this time, the collected address stays with (and can be accessed though) the Stripe account. This was a conscious design decision; that may be subject to change in the future.
