I’ve tested a bunch and all of them seems to give me the same behaviour:

    – New users who log in for the first time via Social login (google) are correctly created as a member on SMP.
    – Users can correctly log in to wordpress (via social login), but only to the wordpress.
    – User isn’t logged in to the membership plugin (I can check that on the “last login” column on the members page)

OBS: The box “Force WP User Syncronization” is already checked.

I’m currently using miniorange Social Login, but also tried Nextend Social Login and a bunch of others.

First it looked like a limitation on SMP but from what I saw on the forum it should work, specially since the implementation of the “Force sync” checkbox mentioned above.

    What am I doing wrong?

Hi, please check the following documentation. Let me know if you have done this already.

    Thank you

I’ve checked it, as I said in my original post.

Basically it seems that SMP doesn’t work with social login plugins. They’ll only be able to see free content on the site, as the user who logs in via Social Login doesn’t get logged in on the member plugin.

    Is that the case?

It shouldn’t be but that’s how it’s behaving here.

Btw, that documentation only talks about the ability to create a member account when a new wp user is created via social login.

    That is working correctly.

My issue is when that user logs in via social login. He’s not being logged on as a SMP Member, despite the “force sync” being checked.

    Hi,

My issue is when that user logs in via social login. He’s not being logged on as a SMP Member, despite the “force sync” being checked.

I just carried out a test. I logged in as a WP User, then I checked the member login page and I was also logged in as a member. However I did not use a social login option.

Just for testing purposes, can you carry out the same test as me. I just want to know if this also works for you. Remember don’t long in via the social login, instead log in via the WP admin site as a user then check to see if you are also logged in as a member. Let me know if this works for you.

    Regards

Yes, normal user login works fine and correctly logs me in as a SMP member.

While the social login plugins logs me in as a normal user, but not as a SMP Member.

Hi, unfortunately there is no integration as far as I know with any social plugin. I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your request.

    Thank you

Some of the social login plugins do not trigger the proper WordPress hooks. This was causing the issue. We have enhanced the code to catch the notification from the social login using a new method. This should solve this issue.

The new version will be released in a day or two that has the change.

    Thanks, @admin & @mbrsolution!

However, I just updated the plugin (v and did a bunch of tests (again with Nextend Social Login & MiniOrange Social Login) and it still doesn’t work. :/

Which social login plugins did you test it with?

I enabled logging, and there’s nothing on the log when I login via social login.
I’ve also tried first creating a new user via the SMP admin panel (instead of registering the user via social login), and then logging him in afterwards with the social login and it also doesn’t work that way.

    thanks a lot again

I had a different experience with social login, that I want to offer here in case it is of any help. Using latest versions of Simple Membership and Nextend Social Login, and ticking both “Enable Auto Create…” and “Force WP User Sync…” boxes, I managed to get a Google login user listed as a Membership member. But that was all. It’s like if Membership system doesn´t recognize it as such. It doesn’t recognize it as logged in, it doesn’t show its profile via shortcode (but it does in the Members list), it doesn’t record its logins.

Hi @sango, which plugin version are you currently using? The latest is 3.7.2.

I still can’t make SMP work with Nextend (it also doesn’t work with any other social login plugin I have tested).

I have made a video reproducing the problem:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SFBXsxD2rg&feature=youtu.be

    Basically what’s happening is :
    – User is correctly created when I first log in as a SMP Member.
    – SMP doesn’t detect the login action from Social Login plugins, even though according to support replies here and in other threads, it should.

    Hi,

I tested a few and only this one has worked:

    Thanks.
