ParticipantMy WordPress install is in a subfolder named ‘_wp’.
The user login page as created by this plugin looks like this: http://www.example.com/_wp/?page_id=19 (we’ll call this the first login page)
The default WordPress login page address looks like this: http://www.example.com/_wp/wp-login.php (we’ll call this the second login page)
A user who self-registers using the Simple Membership mechanism can login at first or second login pages. However a normal WordPress uer (e.g. me, the admin user, and my editors and authors) can only login at the first login page, they cannot login at the second login page.
Is this deliberate? My editors and authors find this quite confusing. Is there any way to allow normal WP users to login on both pages?

KeymasterWhen you use the simple membership plugin, it will only recognize users that register and login via this system. It can’t do what you suggested unfortunately.

ParticipantThanks for the reply.
If anyone else is reading this, note that there is an add-on available from these guys that will import your normal WP users into the Simple Membership user list. Don’t waste hours (like I did) before discovering this fact. Don’t rely on anyone here to mention it to you either 😉

ParticipantHas that solved your password/profile/login issues?
Does the plugin keep the lists synchronized or is there more to do after it’s installed?
Seems bizarre to ignore the WordPress user tools built into the core and maintain a separate list.

ParticipantIt’s actually not too bad now. In my situation the editors and admins don’t change very often, so using the plugin to import them into the Simple Membership user list is acceptable. I turned off the WP admin bar for subscribers and left it on for Admins and Editors, so it’s easier for them to know which account they are logged in as. I also added a bit of code to my theme so it displays the Simple Membership username and login status in the header.
