I’ve just done a bulk import of our membership database which has not gone very smooth at all.
During the import some members have been missed out completely, and as a result member ID’s now do not match with the original membership numbers that were issued on our old database. It is important that these match to enable our members to continue using their old numbers.
Is there a way that I can go through and manually re-assign the Member ID’s?
Thanks,
Michael
The “membership ID” numbers are really the MySQL index numbers. Manually editing the index numbers in the database will “F” things up. There are ways to fool MySQL into reusing the same index numbers; but they are complex, delicate, and beyond the scope of the free support forum.
Knowing where the membership numbers come from, and knowing a little about how MySQL table indexes are chosen; you can “figure out” how to do this on your own. Otherwise; I’d have to offer you the Paid Support option:
