ParticipantWhen not logged in, if a user clicks on a link to a page (for example from an email notification for a forum), the page they see is Error 404 – Oops! That page cant be found, when it should presumably be the Restricted Post (Not Logged-in) message. How can I fix this please

Does the 404 error only occur when clicking an email link? It could be the recipient’s email client line-wrapped the link’s text. The next time that happens; have the recipient copy/paste the link from the email into their browser’s address bar, and the issue should resolve itself.

ParticipantAn example is the following link: [https://ezyuserguide.com/ezyforum/initialization-command-for-tree-order-in-documents/#comment-15]
If I visit that page while logged out I get 404. If logged in the page opens correctlyLogin:

ModeratorThe problem in that URL you provided seems to be the initialization-command-for-tree-order-in-documents page. What is supposed to happen there? If I “backup” the URL, I get the expected “not registered” messages.

ParticipantThe page is a question posted on my forum (DW Question Answer plugin). Yes it appears to only be this type of page/post where the problem is occurring. The link works absolutely fine if you are logged in though, so is something with the page protection rather than the other plugin. Perhaps I have set the protection incorrectly. I have set protection for it via Category Protection: Custom Post Type (dwqa-question_category)
I havent protected it individually under Post and Page Protection – Custom Posts. Looking at the individual question from within the dashboard, the ‘Simple WP Membership Protection’ section is ticked “yes protect this content”, then a banner says “The category or parent category of this post is protected. You can change the category protection settings from the category protection menu”
Many thanks
