    We’d like to have a “renew membership” link on the profile widget that would take the member to the renewal page. How might I do that?

    Hi, are you talking about the profile page or the side widget displayed in your site?

    Yes. After login we’d like to have a “renew membership” link along with the two standard links users see after login.

    Something like

    Edit Profile
    Renew Membership
    Logout

    If you enter your renewal page URL in the following settings field, it will show a link to that page to the expired members:

    
Simple Membership -> Settings -> Membership Renewal URL

    You can also edit the profile edit page and put the renewal button shortcodes below the edit profile shortcode:
