i have set up my website with three subscriber options (there is no free sign up). People can click the subscribe button, then they pay with paypal, then they receive an email giving instructions and a link on how to register a username and a password.

There is no issue with the emails being sent to them or sending them to the appropriate place to register. THE PROBLEM is that when they select a user name and a password and then click SUBMIT, it does not register them at all. Instead, it returns them to the same page. They put in their user name again, they put in the password again, they click submit again and again…..it does not register them at all. It returns them to the same page and over and over again it goes.

Some people get through just fine. Others are so frustrated that I have to delete their account, manually sign them up again with a temp user name and password and then once they are in, they can change the temp info to more secure info.

so my question is…………when they click the link that takes them to register…………..WHY does it not complete the registration? it is like it is on an endless loop. thank you.

PS, I do have the debug mode on but cannot register myself because there is no free option (although, when I first tested, I had no problems at all). No one new has registered today, so I will not know for sure what is logged until it happens 🙂

Yes, Paypal automatically turns the IPN on now (it only allows you to turn it off now). I checked their notes to make sure.

Hi, are any of you using the Form Builder addon?

If you are not, can you check your settings under Settings -> Email Settings. What are your current e-mail settings?

    Thank you

no, not using form builder. And I have made no changes to the email settings except to put my email in for the “From” email address.

Hi, just keep an eye out for the next registration. After they register please check the log file and report back.

    Thank you
