But i still get a big pile of false registrations every day!I would like get one more verification step – for example, like in this forum – “How much is one + 12” or simple security guestion / answer option – “What is opposite of word “day”?”

KeymasterCan you make sure that the following option is unnchecked in your General WordPress settings to make sure these registrations are not coming from the standard WordPress user registration form:
WordPress Admin Dashboard -> Settings -> General -> Membership -> Anyone can register
Simple membership has its own registration form where the captcha is used. If you have the above mentioned option enabled then that means people can go to the standard wordpress registration form and register. By default that option disabled but you may have enabled it on your site so it is a good idea to check that first.

Participant“Anyone can register” is already disabled, registration is possible only via Simple Membership plugin.

KeymasterGoogle captcha is pretty good at stopping spam bots. Sometimes you will have people sitting there manually filling in the form. Those ones you can’t stop using a captcha. There are people out there that employ cheap labor to manually fill in forms using humans.
I will try and work on a feature to do email verification for free registration. That should help.

ParticipantHello! Maybe you have a good news and some alpha/beta version for testing – spammers are still trying to do mass registration. 🙂

KeymasterWe have added some improvements to our captcha addon. Please download a new copy of the addon (v1.6) now and try it:

ParticipantOK, installed, will see results.
By the way, the upgrade process is broken, i had to manually delete directory or uninstall plugin:
=========
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
Destination folder already exists. /var/www/klki.lv/wp-content/plugins/swpm-recaptcha/
Plugin install failed.
