Redirection only working with username

I have discovered that the redirection (set at the membership level) only works if you sign in with username – if you use email, it doesn’t work… how is this possible??

Hi, thank you for reporting this. Do you receive any error messages?

No none – just that when I login using username I get to the redirection-url but when I login with email I get back to the page where I click on the login (frontage of my site). And no, have not checked “redirect to last page” (which would then also apply to logging in with username).

I have 3 different membership levels and same issue for all. Works well using username. Not working when using email.

Rather strange isn’t it 🙂

by the way have tried to deactivate and re-activate plugin. I have a Custom login screen plugin running – I have tried to deactivate that too but issue remains.

Hi, sorry for not reporting back sooner. The plugin developers will be looking into this issue. Just one question, have you tried to disable all your other plugins except this one and carried out a test?

No worries – yes, have been trying to isolate but issue remains.

I have only tested it while deactivating other plugins. Wouldn’t know what else to do – am I the only one having the problem or might people just not have noticed there is a difference using email or username when logging in. It took my a while too as I always log in with username. So I only discovered it by coincidence.

Hi, I just carried out a test. I created a new member from the backend with an e-mail address as the user name. Set up the redirect URL and tested the login. The member was redirected to the URL address specified in the settings.

And I also did not check “redirect to last page”.

So in my case it is working.
