You can use a WordPress social login type plugin with Simple Membership to allow users to log into the site using the social media login plugin.
Your users will be able to go to your WordPress login screen and log into the site using a social media platform. This allows the users access to the content that you have protected using Simple Membership plugin.
Integrating with a Social Login Plugin
Step 1) Install and configure your social media login plugin and test it to make sure the standard WordPress login process (via this plugin) works correctly on your site.
Step 2) Go to the following interface of the Simple Membership plugin:
Simple Membership -> Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Create Member Accounts for New WP Users
Step 3) Check the “Enable Auto Create Member Accounts” option.
This option will auto create a simple membership record when your Social Login plugin creates a new WordPress user record. This is to allow visitors (who do not already have an account) to create a free basic simple membership account so they can be logged into that profile.
Later that user can upgrade his account by paying for a premium membership.
Question) Will it create a member account whenever a WP user is created?
Yes. When this option is enabled, any plugin that creates a WP user will cause the simple membership to create a member record according to your configuration.
Question) Will an email be sent out from Simple Membership when a record is created?
We expect the other plugin (creating the wp user record) to drive the registration process in this scenario. So our simple membership won’t send any emails for this. The user should receive a standard registration email from WordPress.
What Social Login Plugins will Work with SWPM?
The following free social login plugins have been tested by me and it works with the Simple Membership Plugin’s settings described above.
